About Craig Mallace

Craig Mallace is the Owner and Director of Coaching for First Touch Soccer MN. Originally from Scotland, soccer has been a major part of his life from a young age. After a successful youth playing career in Scotland, he moved to the United States, where he continued to develop both as a player and student-athlete.

Craig attended the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, competing at the NCAA Division I level while earning a Bachelor's Degree in Communications with studies in History and Communications. During his time at UWM, he helped the program win multiple Horizon League titles and make several NCAA Tournament appearances. He also earned All-League recognition and remains among the program's all-time assist leaders.

Following college, Craig was drafted by the Milwaukee Wave of the MISL before signing professionally with the Minnesota Thunder in the USL First Division, now known as Minnesota United FC. During his professional career, he competed against clubs including the Seattle Sounders FC, Portland Timbers, and Montreal Impact.

While playing professionally, Craig also became heavily involved in youth coaching and camps throughout Minnesota. After his playing career ended due to injury, he transitioned full-time into coaching and player development.

Craig has held leadership and coaching roles with several organizations, including the European Soccer Academy in New Jersey, Cottage Grove United, and Minnesota United FC, where he served as Director of Camps & Youth Development. He currently coaches within the Edina Soccer Club community and works with players across multiple age groups.

Over the years, Craig has earned his USSF D and C Licenses, along with the National Youth License, and has worked extensively in coach education, player development, and camp programming.

At First Touch Soccer MN, the focus is on creating a positive, challenging, and supportive environment where players of all ages and skill levels can grow their confidence, skills, and love for the game.
